LAKE REGION - In memory Brendan M. Kizer, every September his family hosts a Community Blood Drive, since it is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. After Brendan’s passing from cancer, his family decided to create a foundation to help others who are managing life while they too, have a child who is ill and seeking medical treatment.

This year, the Brendan Kizer Foundation Challenge will host the blood drive Saturday, September 15 from noon to 5 p.m. at the Wallenpaupack Area High School gym.
Brendan died October 3, 2008 after a battle with leukemia. He was 17 and from Hawley. Brendan was a senior at Wallenpaupack at the time.
