KIMBLES — For the third year, Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus and friends will be celebrating the Christmas and Holiday Season by touring the Woodledge, Tink Wig and Woodloch Springs communities on Saturday, December 15, from 5:35 p.m. until approximately 8:15 p.m.
The men and women of the Forest Volunteer Fire Department have made this an annual community event. Santa and friends will be riding in a big red sleigh pulled by a decorated FVFD fire engine with bright Christmas lights.
Immediately following a tour of each community, Santa will make a 40-minute stop at each community’s club house for an opportunity to meet the children and their families. Below are the approximate times for each community:At 5:35 Santa and his sleigh will touch down and tour Woodledge and meet the children in the clubhouse parking lot at approximately 5:45 p.m.
At approximately 6:35 p.m., the Man Dressed in RED and Mrs. Claus dash into and tour Tink Wig and arrive at the clubhouse at about 6:45 PM.
Finally, at approximately 7:45 p.m., Santa, Mrs. Claus and their firemen friends will glide into and travel throughout Woodloch Springs with the FVFD fire engines and arrive at the clubhouse at 7:45 p.m. to meet the children and their parents.
“This is another way that the women and men of FVFD Ladder 81 annually express their appreciation for the continued community support of Forest’s 365-24-7 efforts to keep our families, friends, visitors and communities safe,” said Fire Chief Timothy Knapp. Knapp went on to say that Santa and Mrs. Claus are taking time out from their hectic schedule to thank the communities, celebrate the holidays and support the FVFD.
FVFD Lieutenant Michelle Manzione stated that, “Santa knows that there is a continuous need for volunteer men and women as firefighters and also important support staff. FVFD will provide training, certification and equipment to those who are willing to dedicate themselves to making our communities safer for all.”
Santa and Mrs. Claus might even have candy canes for the children.
