GREAT LAKES, IL - Marc C. Mireau, a 2018 graduate  of Delaware Valley High School, recently completed an eight week  Navy Bootcamp at the Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes Illinois.

Marc held the position of Recruit Chief Petty Officer (RCPO/RPOC) for his division and as such was the primary recruit assistant to the Recruit Division Commanders. His responsibilities included the following:

Maintaining good order, discipline, and security within the division at all times. Ensuring compliance with standing orders and regulations. Assisting RDCs with implementation of schedules. Reporting any abnormal condition to RDCs, including violations of good order, discipline and security, when RDCs are not present.

Marc’s leadership enabled his division to graduate 87 sailors and earn four divisional flags for the Pass In Review (Graduation).  He also led his division to victory in the Captains Cup, an athletic competition between divisions. For his successful work as RPOC, Marc was ranked up to E2.

Marc was a standout varsity swimmer for four years at DVHS and a swim team Captain in his senior year. He was also a Vo-Tech student in the construction curriculum for three years and participated in the “Day of Caring” for all four years.

Marc is the youngest of five children. His parents are Debbie and Gregg Mireau who resident in Sunrise Lake, Milford. Marc was originally from Staten Island, New York and has resided in Milford since 2005.

Marc has enlisted for six years as a Machinist Mate and looks forward to the challenges and opportunities that the Navy will provide him.
