With the arrival of spring and the end of a long winter, Hawley was brought to life Friday, May 2, with the official start of the Downtown Hawley Partnership’s “First Friday.”
In its second year, First Friday, “brings the indoors out” say organizers. Held on the first Friday of every month until December, First Friday has something for everyone.
Downtown Hawley merchants and the Hawley Public Library came alive through offering special events and prices, homemade cooking and a cheese and wine reception, to name a few.
The Settlers Inn, offered a menu sampling “A Taste of Hawley” at a low price, with the Public library holding a Book Sale.
Artisan Picture Framing and Art Gallery, provided a Wine and Cheese Reception with live music while exhibiting the original paintings of local artists and area photographers by proprietor Peter Daniel.

Penny Lane Candies and Candles had its popcorn making machine on the sidewalk for folks to enjoy some fresh, hot popcorn and offered 10 percent of all its bulk candies.
Not to take the attention off of the town of Hawley, the Classic Car Show by the Coasters Car Club of NEPA was held on Keystone Street, where numerous hot rods and antique vehicles grabbed the eyes of many. Live oldies music was provided by Richie Z, Pilot of the Airwaves.
