Wallenpaupack Area High School held its annual scholarship/awards program on Friday, June 18, 2010. Individuals, organizations and businesses, 114 in all, contributed 165 scholarships totaling $123, 887 as noted by Jay Starnes, Principal.
Brooke Wilkins was the Valedictorian of the Class of 2010, Wallenpaupack Area High School. She is seen delivering her address, in which she used a story about passing a rescue line to others.
Olivia Hessling was the Salutatorian of the Class of 2010, Wallenpaupack Area High School. She is seen delivering her address, in which she likened their school years to a rainbow of colors.
Wallenpaupack Area School Board, Monday night, approved a budget for the 2010-2011 school year with the following tax increases;
Wayne County millage rate, 12.5860, an increase of .48 mill, or 3.97%.
Pike County millage rate, 61.6353, an increase of 1.36 mills, or 2.26%.
The budget includes $60,149,349 in expenditures and $59,164,310 in revenue. This budget is a 2.03% increase over the 2009-2010 budget.
