Bushkill, Pa. -

Superintendent John J. Donahue has announced that two National Park Service employees found human remains in the Delaware River Wednesday afternoon.

The employees were conducting a boat patrol and came across the remains on the New Jersey side of the river, about one mile south of Sambo Island, within Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area.

The National Park Service contacted the Warren County Medical Examiner and the New Jersey State Police. The Medical Examiner received the remains and is conducting an examination to determine the individual’s identity.
