On Tuesday, July 27, at 7:30 p.m. at the Delaware Township Municipal Building 116 Wilson Hill Dr., Dingmans Ferry there will be a forum on the Marcellus Shale hydraulic fracturing.
The focus and purpose of this forum is to educate and inform our citizens on the effects and ramifications of Hydraulic Fracturing and the legal implications of leasing land to the gas companies.
The people need to know their legal rights and the rights and privileges they forfeit when they lease to the gas companies.   People need to hear of the consequences by those who suffered catastrophic loss, according to coordinator Joseph Kramar.
“Those in favor of the drilling must also be heard as well and those who understand the science of this technology.   Our Senators, Congressmen, State Representatives and their surrogates have been contacted.   We want these powerful men and women to weigh in on the pros and cons as well,” Kramar stated.
Professionals in the legal field have also been asked to attend and speak and the impact on real estate values should be covered.  Cinematographer Pat Curello and his crew of video technicians will be filming the event for a TV program Kramar said he is producing for a cable network.
Confirmed speakers : Susan Beecher, Executive Director of the Pike County Conservation District;  Brian Hennessey, Agricultural Educational Program Chair for Rutgers and Barbara Allendale, Founder of Damascus Citizens.
“This free event is intended to raise awareness on an issue which has a strong impact  on the health and safety of all concerned,” said Kramar.
