A 74-year-old Honesdale woman was lifeflighted after she was hit by the mirror of minivan driven by a Hawley man.
Charges are pending against a 29-year-old Hawley man, PA State Trooper John M. Chervanka reported. The man was traveling north on Terrace St. (SR3031) at about 3 pm, Wednesday, when he tried to pass the woman riding a Diamond Mountain Bike near Cherry Ridge Grooming in Cherry Ridge.
As he drove past her, the mirror on his 198 Ford Wind Star hit the woman. She was airlifted to CMC Hospital for possible head injuries. Police said she was wearing a helmet.
The Hawley man will face citations for Overtaking another vehicle on the left and driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked.
