Candidates wishing to be placed on Pennsylvania’s April 24th Primary Election Ballot may begin circulating nomination petitions on January 24th.
All registered Wayne County Democratic voters are invited to a Petition Signing & Pizza Party hosted by the Wayne County Democratic Committee. The event is on Thursday, January 26th at Elegante's Banquet Room, 851 Main Street in Honesdale from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Pizza and soda will be provided for all registered Democrats – although there is no cost to attend, donations will be accepted to offset expenses. Other food and beverages will be available for purchase.
Petitions for U. S. President, U. S. Senate, PA Treasurer, PA Auditor General & PA Attorney General will be available as well as the opportunity to meet the State Representative Candidates for the two newly formed districts serving Wayne County - Jeff Dahlaneder for the 111th and Phil Scollo for the 139th.
RSVP's by Wednesday, January 25th are appreciated but not required by calling 253-8788 and leaving a message or sending an e-mail to mgraziadio@aol.com.
Here are the important dates for this spring’s primary election:
January 24th - First day to circulate and file nomination petitions
February 14th - Last day to circulate and file nomination petitions
February 15th - First day to circulate and file nomination papers
February 29th - Last day for withdrawal by candidates who filed nomination petitions
March 26th - Last day to register before the April 24th primary
April 17th - Last day to apply for a civilian absentee ballot
April 20th - Last day for County Board of Elections to receive voted civilian absentee ballots
April 24th - GENERAL PRIMARY
