Arthur 0. Snelders, 82, resident of Hemlock Farms, Lords Valley, passed away Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009 at Ellen Memorial, Honesdale.

He was a retired Director of Athletics, Kings Park High School, Kings Park, Long Island, NY. He was a US Marine Corps World War II and Korea Conflict veteran. Mr. Snelders was a member and Senior Vice Commander of Marine Corps League, Gung-Ho Detachment, Kings Park Hall of Fame, Del Phi University Athletic Hall of Fame and Suffolk County Sports Hall of Fame.

The son of the late George and Judith (Jensen) Snelders he was born January 13, 1927 in Brooklyn, NY. Beloved husband of Doris (Konig) Snelders, married on September 30,1950 in Glen Brook, Long Island, NY.

Loving father of son Karl A. Snelders and his wife Jill of Port Jefferson Station, NY, and daughter Christine A. Kelly and her husband Don of Yorketown Heights, NY; Dear Poppa of five grandchildren: Leanne, Ryan, Kristen, Jenna, and William.

Friends may call at Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 West Harford St., Milford on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8 pm. Funeral services will be held at Stroyan Funeral Home on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009 at 8 pm with Rev. Herb Jacobsen officiating.
