Gilbert C. Caron, Jr., 66, of Port Jervis, NY, passed away Sunday May 24, 2009, at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis, NY.
He was born on November 27, 1942 the son of the late Charlotte Stoughton Caron. Gilbert was a packager for Delaware Valley Nut & Bolt Co, Montague, NJ and an assembler and packager for Wilder Mfg. in Port Jervis. He was a member of the Wickham Methodist Church, Port Jervis and a choir member of the church. He was also a member of the Sussex County High Point Harmonizers and the Port Jervis Tri-State Barber Shop Chorus. Gilbert was a graduate of the Perkins School for the Blind at Watertown, Mass.
Gilbert is survived by many close friends his church families of the Drew United Methodist Church and the Wickham Methodist Church, and the people of the City of Port Jervis.
Memorial services will be held on Friday May 29 at 11 am at the Wickham Methodist Church, 32 Bruce St., Port Jervis, NY. Rev. Robin Martineau will officiate. Interment will be private.
