Jack Ziegler, 78, of Sterling, died Thursday morning, Dec 17, 2009, at his home. He was the Husband of Margaret (Skelton) Ziegler, at home.

Born in Greentown, son of the late Raymond and Edythe (Crocker) Ziegler, he was a lifelong resident of the Sterling-Newfoundland area.

A 1949 Graduate of Greene Dreher Sterling High School, Jack served in the U S Army during the Korean Conflict. Following his service in the Armed Forces, Jack establised and owned Jack Ziegler Well Drilling until his retirement in 1996 after almost 50 years serving the public.

A Member, Former Trustee and Auditor of the Sterling United Methodist Church, he was a lifetime member of the NRA. A Former Grange and IOOF Member and was an avid Golfer and Bowler.

In addition to his wife Margaret, he is survived by: a daughter Cindy (Husband, William) Hefty; two sons Jack (wife, Ann) Ziegler, Jr, and Terry (Wife, Ingrid) Ziegler, all of Sterling. Five grandchildren, William and Jeffrey Ziegler, Korey Washine, Nicholas and Tristan Hefty; Six great grandchildren; and a sister Nancy Lee, Greentown. He was preceded in death by a sister Ruth Fielding.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, December 21, 2009 at 11 am in the Sterling United Methodist Church, Rev. Patricia Lee, Pastor, will officiate.  Burial will be in Sterling Cecietery. Friends may call Sunday 5 to 7 pm  at the Arthur J. Frey Funeral Home, 201 Rt 191, Village of La Anna, South Sterling and from 10 am until  service time at the Sterling UM Church.                       

 In lieu of Flowers, memorial rememberances may be made to the Sterling United Methodist Church, P0 Box 25, Sterling, Pa. 18463.
