Donald James Geddes, Sr., 69, of Paupackian Lakes, Hawley and formerly of Sloatsbury, NY, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010, at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale.
Mr. Geddes was born December 18, 1940, in Plainfield, NJ and was the son of the late Roy Andrew and Agnes (Nelson) Geddes.
Donald was a 1959 graduate of Suffern, NY, High School and retired in 1995 as an auto body shop manager for Mahwah Ford.
He was a life/benefactor of the NRA and Duck Unlimited, an avid cook and woodworker who enjoyed making rocking horses for kids. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years: Carol A. (Petrosky) Geddes; one son and daughter-in-law, Donald, Jr. and Mary Ellen Geddes of Rocky Hill , NJ; two daughters and sons-in-law, Leigh-Ann and Eric Burke of Hamburg, NJ, and Jennifer and Eric Sievers of Moscow; Six grandchildren, Ian, Logan, Sarah, Peyton, Landon, Mason and one niece.
He was predeceased by his siblings; Beverly, Robert and Barbara.
No public funeral service is planned.
Cremation will be at Lake Region Crematory in Lake Ariel, PA.
