Services will be held for Elyse E. Odell, 91, formerly of Newfoundland, who died Tuesday, April 28, 2009, in Brighten at Julia Ribaudo, Lake Ariel. She was the widow of John Van Wyck “Digger” Odell who died in 1983.

Born in Nyack, NY, daughter of the late Raymond E. and, Henretta (Hartell) Everett, she had resided in Newfoundland since 1969.

Elyse had been active in many Church Women’s groups during her lifetime and was currently a member of the LaAnna UMC, LaAnna.

She is survived by: a daughter Carol E. Peterson, South Sterling; a son John Van Wyck Odell III, Browns Mills, NJ; Five grandchildren, Todd Peterson, wife Nancy, Effort; Tara Pitts, husband Patrick, Vero Beach, FL; Troy Peterson, wife Elsie, Newfoundland; Edward Odell, Pullman, WA; and David, wife Dawn, Tabernacle, NJ; Six Great grandchildren, Nathaniel and Noah Peterson, Effort; Luke and Molly Peterson, Newfoundland; Chassidy Rutt, Scranton; Tabitha Klein, husband Neil, Newfoundland; and Five Great-Great-grandchildren.

The Family would like to thank the entire staff at Brighten at Julia Ribaudo for their wonderful care of Elyse.
