HAWLEY - Borough Planning Commission will meet at Maley's Swimming Hole Tuesday June 25- not to take a dip but to review what they may want to do to improve the property. The Monaghan family donated the narrow strip along the Middle Creek just off the end of River Street to the Borough, for park land.

Food cooking sets off alarms, calls out Fire Dept. 4X

HAWLEY - Hawley Fire Department answered 14 calls for service in May 2013, reported Deputy Fire Chief Eugene E. Krause.

Four of these turned out to be caused by cooking food, with the smoke setting off alarms. Three of them were at Eagle Apartments, 522 Spring Street. Fire officials spoke to the building maintenance manager about the sensitivity of the alarms. Two were on May 24, at 4:03 and at 7:56 p.m. Hawley Fire Department was back a third time on May 26 at 5:36 p.m. [...]

MILFORD - The Pike County Economic Alliance is seeking a new Executive Director to further their goals of enhacing the business climate in the area.

HAWLEY - July 4th week is lining up with plenty of celebration and family activities in the Hawley region. In addition to the parade in Hawley and fireworks at Lake Wallenpaupack, a carnival is coming to Bingham Park, July 2- 6.

Amusement rides provided by AEB Amusements, games and food are planned. There is no charge to enter the grounds. Unlimited rides will be available for $13, with a wrist band provided.
