At Kirby Park in Wilkes-Barre Monday, May 5, the Wallenpaupack Boys Tennis Team defeated Hazleton by a score of 3-2, sweeping the doubles matches, in the District 2 Team Tournament semi-finals.

Chris Finney, trying to overcome a nagging back injury for the Bucks played a good match but fell to Mike Cidori, 6-1, 6-0.

Chris Miller defeated Hazleton’s Matt Breslin 6-2, 6-4.

‘Paupack’s Wes Kolodziej fell to Tom McGuire 6-3, 6-1.

The doubles pairing of Kevin Alderfer and Josh Wentz won in straight sets over Donte Fiero and Mike Eyerly 6-0, 6-1. Kyle Schneider and Rafael Diniz also won in straight sets for the Bucks, 6-0, 7-5.

The Bucks will play Abington Heights in the Championship round Monday afternoon (results not in as of press deadline).
