Lady Bucks Score 3 First-Half Goals on Way to Win

In a non-league match-up the Lady Bucks Soccer Team made the long trek down to Lancaster County to take on the host team of Lancaster Christian. After three goals, two in the first ten minutes, in a windy first half the Bucks held on to the lead and won 3-0.

In the first half, Leann Mathews recorded the game’s first goal at the 7:05 mark. The goal was unassisted. At the 9:32 mark Rosy Tamam found the back of the net on an assist from Gina Boccia. The final goal of the half and the game came at the 23:18 mark when Kim Barry connected on an assist from Mathews.

Heather Michael collected another shutout in the nets for the Purple Pack making 12 saves on 12 shots faced.

The Bucks outshot their opponent 18-12 and had 13 corner kicks compared to one for Lancaster Christian.

Delaware Valley at Wyoming Valley West

The Lady Warriors traveled to Wyoming Valley West and were knotted at 0-0 in the first half before West scored two goals in the second half to win the game.

Brianna Kody recorded 27 saves in the contest for DV.

Honesdale at Hanover Area

The Lady Hornets’ Kelsey Kohrs scored at the 22:04 mark in the first half for what eventually proved to be the game-winner in a 1-0 victory for Honesdale.

Leeanna Bennett recorded eight saves for the Hornets.
