Evie Decker scored the Lady Bucks’ only goal, and the eventual game-winner, in the first half to lead the Purple Pack to a 1-0 victory over Hanover Area on Monday afternoon.
Despite a strong wind blowing across the field from the Big Lake, the Bucks maintained control of the ball and played most of the game in their attacking half of the field, setting up numerous chances and opportunities to score.
The visitors were limited to just two shots due to the dominating play in the midfield by Jill Alderfer and a solid defensive effort from Jillian Jansco. Hanover recorded just two shots in the contest compared to 24 from the Bucks. Heather Michael recorded another shut-out in the net stopping both shots she faced.
The Bucks Junior Varsity team won their match 2-0.
On Wednesday the Bucks traveled to Milford and fought the Warriors, cold rain, and wind to a 0-0 draw after 80 minutes of regulation and two overtime periods. This is the third consecutive time the Bucks and Warriors have played where the game ended with the score knotted at 0-0.
The Lady Bucks outshot the Warriors by a margin on 11-6 and recorded five corner kicks compared to zero for DV.
Heather Michael collected six saves for the Purple Pack, Brianna Kody had 11 saves.
