Looking to pick up their fourth straight win of the season, Delaware Valley traveled into the Electric City on Friday night to take on host West Scranton at Scranton Memorial Stadium.
With three minutes remaining in the game, the Invaders spoiled the unblemished Warriors’ record, when Malcolm Sweeting hauled in a 68-yard pass from Tyler Hughes to put West Scranton up for good at 35-34.

The Warriors jumped out on top in the opening moments of the quarter.
DV’s Josh Reynolds recorded a sack on Hughes on the Invaders’ first series of the game, forcing them to punt.
The Warriors took over from their own 47, and methodically marched down the field.
Chris Cohen handled the ball most of the first series for the Warriors, setting them up with a first and goal from the four yard line.
Martin Strenk capped off the drive and Josh Hunt knocked in the extra point to make it a seven point advantage for the visiting team.
The Warrior defense once again stepped up to the plate on the Invaders’ second possession of the game.
At the 5:09 mark, the ball was jarred loose and Jeremy Reynolds pounced on it, giving his offense excellent field position.
On the very next play from scrimmage, Cohen broke two tackles and scampered into the endzone from 32 yards out. The extra point was no good, making it 13-0 in favor of DV.
With still plenty of time in the first quarter of play, the Invaders offense struck back.
At the 3:08 mark, Josh Schroeder rumbled in from 50 yards out, cutting the West deficit to just six points.
Less than two minutes into he second quarter of play, DV was back in the endzone.
This time quarterback Bryan Schor kept the ball and rushed in from four yards out to put the Warriors back up by 13.
West once again responded when Hughes found Ray Dominguez for a 15 yard strike.
Delaware Valley would add one more score in a wild first half, after a ten play drive with Strenk scoring from three yards out.
At half-time the Warriors held a 26-14 lead.

West came out of the intermission and immediately turned the tables.
Instead of kicking to the Warriors and putting their defense on the field, they used the onsides kick, recovered it, and put the offense to work.
15 second later Schroeder was in for his second touchdown of the night, cutting the lead to 26-21.

In the fourth quarter the Invaders had their first lead of the game when Hughes connected with Dominguez for an 11 yard scoring strike.
The two-point conversion failed, and West was up 27-26.
The Warriors responded, again with Cohen carrying the ball.
At the 7:38 mark he crossed the goal line. Schor hit Connor Decker for the two-point conversion, putting the Warriors up 34-27.
Then Hughes hit Sweeting for the 68 yard bomb, blowing up the undefeated record for Delaware Valley.
Cohen finished the game with 240 yards and two TDs.
West’s Schroeder recorded 134 yards and two TDs rushing.
Next up for the Warriors is a home game with Abington Heights on Oct. 1 with a 7 pm kickoff time.
