Hawley, Pa. -

Hawley Post 311’s Junior Legion team sits on top of the leaderboard after a close contest with South Scranton on Saturday afternoon.

The team took down their opponents on the Wallenpaupack Middle School field 5-4 and improve their record to 11-2 overall and 10-2 in league play.

In the game, Evan Rollison came up with a big shot in the bottom half of the sixth on a single that scored Will McLaughlin for the eventual game-winning run.

In the top of the seventh things got a bit rocky for the junior Bucks but McLaughlin, playing sturdy defense and Ian Dassance on the mound to close it out was what they needed and got.

Erik Pulkkinen is currently on a 13-game hitting streak and will take that impressive number into the game today, Wednesday, against Old Forge where he will look to extend it.

Dassance and Pulkkinen both collected two hits a piece for Hawley while Kyle Conklin, John Gardepe, McLaughlin and Evan Rollison all racked up one a piece.
