Grab your helmets, your racing gloves, and your love of speed and bring them to the Church Street hill in Hawley on Saturday, June 20 for the Third Annual Hawley 500 Soap Box Derby Car Race.

Besides the adrenaline-filled, action-packed day of racing, there will be plenty of things to do for those not looking to scream down the hill in a soap box car. There will be a Slip-n-Slide, a Water Slide, a Bounce House, Petting Zoo, Pony Rides, a DJ broadcasting your favorite music, games for all, and of course plenty of delicious foods to sample.

The event is expecting between 25-30 participants so get there early to enjoy the festivities before the racing begins. There is a $5 racers’ entry fee and if you don’t have your own car, there will be plenty of cars that can be used by all.

Awards will be given to all the participants and special awards presented for “most unique”, “safest driver”, and the “fan-fare awards”, as well as others.

Get there by 11 am to maximize your fun-filled afternoon.
