Full phone service to PPL Electric Utilities’ Customer Service Center was restored by Verizon around 3:30 p.m. Friday Jan. 15. The company will offer special Saturday hours Jan. 16 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for customers affected by the limited service.
“We thank our customers for their patience and understanding while phones were down,” said Robert M. Geneczko, vice president of Customer Services for PPL Electric Utilities. “We’re glad we can get back to the business of helping our customers.”
Problems with PPL Electric Utilities’ phone service from Verizon severely limited the available phone lines into the company’s Customer Service Center on Friday.
The company encouraged customers with Web access to take advantage of its many self-service features at www.pplelectric.com. The Web site enables customers to pay bills, report power outages, establish payment arrangements, find detailed usage information, and conduct other business online.
PPL Electric Utilities’ Customer Service Center normally operates from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Customers can reach the center by calling toll-free 1-800-342-5775.
PPL Electric Utilities Corporation, a subsidiary of PPL Corporation that provides electricity delivery services to about 1.4 million customers in Pennsylvania, has consistently ranked among the best companies for customer service in the United States.
