Milford, Pa. -

The tri-state community is buzzing in anticipation of Milford Music Festival 2009 and the moment when its headlining performer, Grammy-nominated songstress Vanessa Carlton will take the stage.

At 7 pm on Saturday, June 6, Carlton will grace the Ann Street Park stage following a full day of world-class musical acts including New Jersey blues band Traveling Man, percussion-driven crowd-moving group Roots N Rhythm, and A Tribute to Noel Coward as performed at The National Arts Club in New York City. As though the mainstage performances aren't reason enough to visit Milford, this weekend, festival organizers have announced a full schedule of sidestage performances and events.

Milford Music Festival is set for June 6 and 7. Featuring a broad range of musical acts, festival organizers promise that this years event will continue to be a free family-friendly festival set in Milford.

Best known for 2003s Grammy nominated Song of the Year “A Thousand Miles” and debuting songs from her most recent album “Heroes & Thieves,” Milford-native Carlton will take center stage behind a Yahama baby grand piano, backed vocally by select students from Delaware Valley High School.

Nationally acclaimed recording artist Bashiri Johnson best known for his work with Whitney Houston, Eric Clapton, and Miles Davis, partners with Jah Stix for a percussion driven set that will surely enliven the Ann Street stage. On Sunday, the mainstage will come alive at 2 pm. Presented by Music In The Park (www.milfordmusic.net) as their summer-series kickoff, the Ann St Mainstage will feature three performances and wind down the weekend at 6 pm.

Ann Street Park (located at 5th & W. Ann Streets) is home to the mainstage on Saturday and Sunday. 7 acts will perform on Saturday’s mainstage, with a lunchbreak between 1 and 2:30. Throughout town, restaurants and shopkeepers will host sidestage musical performances and entertainment all weekend long.
