PALMYRA TWP. (Pike) - Wally Paupack the Snowman is currently situated on frozen Lake Wallenpaupack in front of the Lake Wallenpaupack Visitors Center. The Chamber of the Northern Poconos has announced a contest to see who picks when Wally Paupack the Snowman will fall through. Prizes will be awarded.

Wally Paupack the Snowman has been placed in alignment with a 24-hour webcam for both security and to identify the exact time Wally goes through the ice.

It is anchored in ice and has a flashing light (for safety) and a buoy/rope for retrieval. Wally is located in front of the Visitors Center approximately a hundred yards from the beach.

How it works

Visit and follow the prompts to the contest.

Guesses are a $5 donation per guess and you must complete the Month/Day/Hour/Minute/Second when you think Wally Snowman will fall through melted Ice on Lake Wallenpaupack.  Payments will be made by credit card.
Three guesses cost $10; 10 guesses for $20 are also available if you are feeling extra lucky.

Don’t have access to a computer?  You can enter the contest at the Lake Wallenpaupack Visitors Center (cash only, open every day 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) or the Chamber office (8 a.m. until 3 p.m.) below the Center.

The Grand Prize is valued at $1,800+ and includes:
• Two nights in a Suite at Silver Birches; Kayak or SUP rental for two people;
• One night for up to four guests at East Shore Lodging in the a one-bedroom King Suite with pullout sleeper sofa;
• Three-hour captained charter boat on Lake Wallenpaupack;
• Three nights at Gresham’s Motel and a $150 Gift Certificate to Gresham’s Chop House.

Judges – with the use of the 24-hour webcam – will determine the exact time Wally Paupack the Snowman breaks through the ice. The winner will be contacted by email and phone.

All forms with payment must be completed and returned to the Chamber Office by 11:59 p.m. on February 28th to be valid.
