LAKE REGION - Lake Wallenpaupack’s July 4th fireworks show was bigger, higher and more continuous than before, and was well enjoyed Saturday night, July 7, 2018.
“Great fireworks show,” said Karen Rice of Tafton, who sent a picture taken from the V.I.P. section near the high school.
Jeff Sidle of Hawley sent a series of telephoto pictures taken from the shore of Shuman Point across the north end of the lake, showing the pyrotechnics and their reflection in the water.
“The fireworks themselves were more plentiful than in the past with many bursts of 3, 4 or more at a time with only momentary pauses right up to the grand finale which really was spectacular,” Sidle said.
Penny Slotter commented, “Well worth extra days of waiting! Thanks for a wonderful night on the lake.
“Love them!,” said Annette Young. “Worth the crazy trip back to the dock!”
Their glow and sounds were noticed as far as White Mills. The show was postponed from July 4th due to a threat of rain. Weather turned out ideal on July 7.
The Chamber of the Northern Poconos hosted the fireworks, which are supported by sponsors and donations. For more pictures visit www.neagle.com.
