SHOHOLA- Pennsylvania State Police Blooming Grove investigated a runaway juvenile at Shohola Elementary School February 8. The 9-year-old male student walked away from the school and into a wooded area in the southeastern corner of the school off of Twin Lakes Road.

The student hadn’t returned and was unable to be located for over an hour. PA State Police Blooming Grove with a PSP K-9 Tracking Team and PSP Aviation responded to the scene as well as numerous emergency response agencies and volunteers. The student was located at the intersection of Route 6 and Twin Lakes Road in the wooded area at approximately 6:15 p.m.

The student was transported back to the school where he received medical attention as a precaution. The student was released to the custody of a parent. PSP Blooming Grove expressed their appreciation to the numerous agencies and volunteers who responded to assist with locating and safely returning the child to his family. Their response was described as swift, organized and professional.
