Reminder comes In light of several recent accidents on the lake

LAKE WALLENPAUPACK - Brookfield Renewable has reminded those who utilize Lake Wallenpaupack for boating and recreation to exercise safety when on or around waterways.
Specifically, the company urged recreators to always remember to:
1    Wear a PFD (Personal Flotation Device) and ensure all on board wear one as well
2    Know all applicable boating rules and laws
3    Pay attention to and adhere to all signage and barriers
4    Be aware of your surroundings-if something doesn’t look right or feel right, it probably isn’t.
Manager of Stakeholder Relations Brian Noonan said, “Unfortunately, we’ve recently seen several accidents on Lake Wallenpaupack involving boats and recreation. In light of this, and with safety being our number one priority and concern, we felt it would be a good idea to undertake an educational campaign to remind recreators of imperative safety measures.”
Brookfield Renewable’s educational campaign will include safety ads being placed with local media outlets, both digitally and in print along with safety posters being placed at local marinas and at local recreational sites.
